Gratitude & Ingratitude
Two seeds can grow in the same heart.
Today you’ll learn what feeds each one.
Whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap.
I notice the good.
I remember what I’ve been given.
I receive with thanksgiving.
Gratitude helps me enjoy
the life I already have.
Give thanks in everything,
for this is God’s will for you
in Christ Jesus.
I stop noticing the good.
I forget what I’ve been given.
I expect instead of receive.
Ingratitude can keep me from
enjoying the life I already have.
Knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, neither gave thanks… and their senseless heart was darkened.
Because they aren’t being fed the same thing.
God’s Word shows us the difference between the two seeds.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary to each other, that you may not do the things that you want.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
