Day 20
Better a dry crust with peace than a house full of feasting with strifeProverbs 15 and 17
Better Than Kings
A feast was never the point. The point was a heart at peace, seated at its own table, able to look at what is already there and call it enough. Thankfulness does not add to your plate — it shows you the plate was always full.
Write about one ordinary thing you already have — a person, a place, a meal, a morning — and describe why it is more than enough.
Father, thank You for what is already in my hands. Teach my heart to see it the way You see it — as plenty. Where I have been longing for more, give me peace with what is enough. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“A settled gladness with what you already have, because God has already given enough to me.”
You stop craving the next thing and start resting in what you already hold.
Counting today’s gifts daily leaves less room for the itch of wanting — calm becomes who you are.
“A restless fear that what you have will never be enough.”
You live tomorrow’s troubles today, and today’s good goes unseen.
Skip the thanks and the hunger grows — worry becomes the default.
